While full face and flip or modular helmets offer more protection, there's nothing like an open face ot jet helmet to get the full wind in your face riding experience. As there is significantly less protection, open face helmets are usually used for lower speed riding. You'll also need to invest in some eye protection - you don't want a wasp or small stone in the eye at 50mph!
